Trusted Platform, Enhanced Durability

The ENC AXESS platform, known for its structural durability, safety, and flexibility, is Altoona-tested and Buy America-compliant. Propulsion options include clean diesel, CNG, diesel-electric hybrid, and battery-electric.

Built with a 304-grade stainless steel body, the AXESS is engineered to resist corrosion and withstand heavy-duty service across diverse transit operations. The buses are also ADA-compliant and can be configured with various floor plans and accessibility features.

“This follow-on order reflects Academy’s continued confidence in our product and our team’s ability to deliver on time, on promise, and with a true sense of partnership,” said Dan Trujillo, VP, sales, at ENC. “We are proud to support the Academy’s operational growth with safe, durable vehicles – backed by responsive support, hands-on service, and a commitment to doing things right.”

Supporting Growth from Coast to Coast

Academy Bus, headquartered in Hoboken, N.J., operates a fleet of over 1,000 buses in more than 20 locations from Boston to Miami.

The company provides a mix of charter, commuter, intercity, university shuttle, and contract services. Its relationship with ENC began in 2015, and the manufacturer continues to play a key role in supporting the Academy’s long-term fleet strategy focused on performance, reliability, and supplier trust.

The 15 new AXESS buses will be produced at ENC’s 227,000-square-foot, ISO 9001-certified facility in Riverside, California. The facility recently resumed full operations in early 2025 following a temporary production pause in late 2024.

According to ENC officials, the vertically integrated site handles all phases of bus manufacturing and is now actively accepting new orders.
