SEARCHWith this announcement, FTA has advanced funding for 41 new CIG projects throughout the nation under this Administration, totaling approximately $10.7 billion in funding commitments.
The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) announced that a total of $544.3 million in federal funding will be allocated to seven transit infrastructure projects in Arizona, California, Indiana, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, and Utah. Funding is provided through FTA’s Capital Investment Grants (CIG) Program.
With this announcement, FTA has advanced funding for 41 new CIG projects throughout the nation under this Administration, totaling approximately $10.7 billion in funding commitments.
“These transit infrastructure investments will help communities improve access and mobility to transit service as they address the impacts of the COVID-19 public health emergency and continue their economic recovery,” said FTA Deputy Administrator K. Jane Williams.
Two of the projects receiving an allocation have an existing Full Funding Grant Agreement, and five projects are advancing towards readiness to receive a construction grant agreement under the CIG Program. The projects must meet additional requirements in law before a grant can be awarded.
The CIG Program provides funding for major transit infrastructure capital investments nationwide. Projects accepted into the program must go through a multi-year, multi-step process according to requirements in law to be eligible for consideration to receive program funds.
Construction on all four stations is beginning now and is anticipated to be completed by spring 2028.
