HMM joint venture wins contract
Project to be largest in TTC history.
Spadina Link Project Managers – a joint venture of Hatch Mott MacDonald (HMM), Delcan and MMM Group – was awarded a seven-year project management services contract for the Spadina subway extension by the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC).
With an estimated final cost of $2.63 billion, the Spadina subway extension, which will be the first to reach beyond the City of Toronto limits and add six more stations to the route, is the largest transit expansion project to be undertaken by the TTC. It will link neighboring communities in York Region and feature a station at York University.
The initiative was sponsored by three levels of government: the Government of Canada, the Province of Ontario and the City of Toronto/York Region. The project is expected to begin in April 2008 and is expected to be completed by 2015.
