With the COVID-19 pandemic presenting a reality that none of us could have ever expected, METRO Magazine hosted a webinar “Talking Transit through COVID-19 and Beyond,” with Morgan Lyons, former VP, external relations, at DART and currently owner and principal of Lyons Strategic; Katharine Kelleman, CEO of Pittsburgh’s Port Authority of Allegheny County; Mich.’s The Rapid CEO Andrew Johnson. The webinar was sponsored by Safe Fleet and Optibus.

During the webinar, which is now available on demand, Lyons discussed how to plan for a crisis, as well as how look ahead once the nation can get through the pandemic.

Lyons was then joined by Kelleman and Johnson, who talked about their experiences in continuing to provide service during the pandemic, the measures they are taking to follow the CDC’s guidelines on social distancing at stops and on buses, and how they are protecting their frontline workers.

The webinar closes with a lively Q&A from the audience, who asked Kelleman and Johnson questions about management and operational choices they’ve made along the way.
