One person was killed and seven were injured on Wednesday when a shooting suspect hijacked a Los Angeles MTA bus and led police on a two-mile chase through rush hour traffic in downtown L.A. The bus collided with a van and a delivery truck, killing the van's driver. The bus, controlled by the bus driver who had a gun to her head, then crashed into more than one dozen cars in a parking lot. Five passengers were on the bus. The unnamed suspect then jumped from the bus and attempted to hijack a car. He was arrested shortly after the incident. The bus hijacking occurred after the suspect fled the scene of a shooting. Ema Gutierrez, the driver, suffered broken bones and cuts. Several of the passengers were injured.
