Morris Communications Co. of Augusta, Ga., has been awarded exclusive publishing rights for Las Vegas Monorail Magazine, the official publication of the Las Vegas Monorail system.
The first issue of the biweekly monorail guidebook is scheduled for release in March. It will include a foldout map of the monorail route, profiles of hotels with monorail stops and listings of entertainment, dining, shopping and other attractions on or near the Las Vegas Strip.
According to estimates, advertisers in the new publication will reach a projected 19 million monorail passengers, or approximately 53,000 per day, in the first year of operation. The magazine will be distributed free at monorail substations, at kiosks in resorts served by the monorail and inside all monorail cars.
In the Las Vegas market, Morris currently publishes Best Read Guide: Las Vegas and Nevada Hospitality magazine.
