NEWARK, N.J. — A report released Friday claimed New Jersey Transit performed “admirably” on Super Bowl Sunday, despite widespread criticism of poor planning due to the fact it took some fans more than three hours to board trains home from MetLife Stadium, New York Daily News reported.

The report, commissioned by the NJ Transit board of directors, noted the overall problem was not in the planning but rather in the limited capacity of the rail system servicing MetLife Stadium — a one track shuttle capable of moving just 12,000 to 13,000 people per hour to the hub at Secaucus Junction, according to the Daily News.
