ENSCO has won a new multi-year transportation contract to provide track inspection services to Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA). 

ENSCO will provide automated track geometry and measurement test services for the agency’s double-track mainline rail system, which includes approximately 104 miles of track.  

The ENSCO Track Geometry Measurement System (TGMS) has been used on the systems ENSCO currently provides and operates for the U.S. Federal Railroad Administration on their vehicles for monitoring compliance with Federal Track Safety Standards. The system makes use of non-contact measurement techniques to evaluate all track geometry parameters as well as rail profile measurements. 

The system can collect, store and evaluate all required data on any required test vehicle operating at speeds up to the maximum allowable track/vehicle speed. Evaluation is made by comparing measured geometry conditions with applicable standards for non-compliance as provided by the customer.
