MINNEAPOLIS — Unionized Metro Transit bus drivers and light rail operators rejected the Metropolitan Council’s most recent contract proposal and authorized a strike during Super Bowl week if the contract dispute is not settled by January, the Twin Cities Pioneer Press reports.
With job safety noted as one of their primary concerns that was not properly addressed, members of the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1005 voted down the three-year proposal by an overwhelming 93%.
