New Jersey Transit has agreed to a five-year, $7.5 million contract with AT&T that will give riders faster access to information about bus and train arrival and departure times, fares and routes.
As part of the contract, AT&T will upgrade N.J. Transit's administrative and operational networks with local, long-distance, international and toll-free voice services and frame relay and private-line data services.
Currently, N.J. Transit's primary inbound call center provides fare, route and schedule information. By implementing AT&T's network, the agency hopes to improve response times and provide customers with more efficient access to information.
The CAD facility enables NFI to complete full domestic production of heavy-duty transit vehicles, including zero-emission buses, in Winnipeg for the first time in 15 years.
