New Flyer orders total over $389.6M

Increased production will maintain 52-week delivery lead times.

New Flyer of America Inc. and New Flyer Industries Canada ULC have recently secured major orders for 965 buses — 890 firm, 75 options — totaling over $389.6 million in business from transit properties in the U.S. and Canada.

 

These awards include an option for 400 ultra low sulfer diesel 40-foot buses for the Chicago Transit Authority; options for 155 clean-diesel 40-foot buses for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority in Boston; purchase of 150 gasoline-electric 40-foot buses by the City of Montebello (Calif.) and a consortium of other agencies; and a new order of 66 clean- diesel 40-foot buses plus 75 option buses by the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario, Canada.

This announcement brings the total amount of New Flyer orders for 2007 to 2,706 buses so far, representing over $1.3 billion. The company has scheduled an increase for production rates in the second half of the year to maintain delivery lead times of less than 52 weeks.
