NEW YORK — Transit agencies around New York State would lose a combined $95 million in annual federal aid under the six-year highway and transit bill approved by the House last week, which eliminates the High Density States Program, The Journal News reported.
New York’s biggest loser would be the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, which received $84.8 million in 2014 under the program. In the Hudson Valley, Westchester County received $1.38 million, Rockland County received $575,871 and Putnam received $103,846.
