NEW YORK — The city reached a settlement with Transport Workers Union Local 100 on a federal lawsuit challenging the Mayor Bill de Blasio’s law that led to the arrest of several bus drivers involved in serious crashes, The New York Times reported.
The law, passed last year as part of the mayor’s Vision Zero traffic safety plan, made failure to yield — which had been a traffic violation — a misdemeanor crime in some cases in which a driver injured or killed a pedestrian or cyclist who had the right of way.
