OCTA, Google launch transit trip planner
Technology includes detailed street maps and satellite photos.
The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) partnered with Google to launch a public transportation trip planner. The new planner, which can be accessed at www.Google.com or through www.octa.net, features the search engine's map technology, which includes detailed street maps as well as satellite photos. "This new technology will make OCTA's bus system more accessible and will be a great asset to both current and prospective passengers," said OCTA CEO Art Leahy. Along with Burbank Bus, OCTA is the first transportation agency in California to join Google Transit. Six other U.S. transit agencies also offer trip planning through Google.
