Nuria Fernandez Joins MV Transportation’s Board
MV Transportation Inc. announced the appointment of Nuria I. Fernandez to its board of directors.
Fernandez brings over 35 years of distinguished experience in public and private transportation systems to the MV board. She is the Principal and CEO of AMDC Consulting LLC, a transportation strategic advisory services firm.
In 2021, Fernandez was confirmed by the U.S. Senate as the 15th Administrator of the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), where she oversaw a $20 billion annual portfolio supporting infrastructure modernization, technology advancement, and fleet innovation across the country's transit systems. This was the second time Fernandez was selected to lead the FTA, having been appointed as acting administrator in 1999 after initially serving as deputy administrator.
Prior to the FTA, Fernandez led the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA), where she guided major capital projects like the Bay Area Rapid Transit extension into Silicon Valley and launched the VTA Innovation Center to foster forward-thinking transit solutions.
ENC Names Cornejo Sr. Regional Sales Manager, Western U.S.
ElDorado National California Inc. (ENC), promoted Carlos Cornejo to sr. regional sales manager, western U.S.
Cornejo, who rejoined ENC in November 2024, is responsible for leading strategic sales efforts, market expansion initiatives, and customer partnerships throughout the Western region. His role will also involve working closely with ENC’s direct to client engagement strategy throughout the country as well.
With nearly 15 years of experience in transportation, Cornejo brings a unique blend of operational and sales expertise to ENC. He began his career as a Wheel Vehicle and Diesel Mechanic in the U.S. Army, overseeing fleet and equipment maintenance, and later advanced into roles across diesel technology, business development, and regional sales management.
His career includes leadership positions at Valley Power Systems and Engineered Machined Products, as well as experience in sustainable transportation solutions during his time at ChargePoint.
ENC also named James Smith as its regional sales manager, southeast U.S.
Smith will also report to Daniel Trujillo, VP, sales and marketing, and will focus on supporting transit agencies and contractors across the region.
Smith brings extensive expertise in manufacturing operations, customer support, and the transit bus industry. He spent six years with New Flyer of America as a customer program manager, where he oversaw a $200 million portfolio and played a key role in zero-emission project execution.
Cornejo and Smith's appointments support ENC’s continued resurgence, as the company prepares to resume production and deliveries in June 2025. ENC is actively accepting orders for its full portfolio of Altoona-tested buses , including battery-electric, diesel-electric hybrid, CNG, and clean diesel models, all manufactured end-to-end at the company’s Riverside, Calif., facility.
