HOUSTON — After working through disagreements that threatened plans for a light rail line that would cross University of Houston property, school officials agreed to allow the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (Metro) to start the next phase of construction of the line, the Houston Chronicle reported. In exchange, Metro will address concerns involving access to UH's facilities.
A Metro spokesperson told the Houston Chronicle that the transit agency agreed to pay $1.5 million to take the steps included in the agreement, including provide an alternative access road to ease potential problems. For the full story, click here.
