Volvo wins Canadian bus contract
NovaBus will supply 825 buses to nine transit operators.
NovaBus, a Canadian company jointly owned by Volvo and U.K. company Henlys Group, was awarded a five-year contract to supply 825 buses to a consortium representing nine transit operators in Quebec. The deal is expected to be worth between $250 million and $440 million, and would run from 2003 to 2007. There was an option for 250 buses for 2008 to 2009 and an overall option of another 20% increase in the supply volumes. The Association du Transport Urbain du Quebec was the purchasing consortium.
