The Transit & Paratransit Company (TAPTCO) announced the re-creation of its Safety Leadership Training Course for leaders, managers, supervisors, dispatchers, and all other levels of management who lead bus operations.
The Safety Leadership Course is an advanced educational course for all levels of leadership and can be delivered online or from a thumb drive. The course includes seven training programs and a 40-question final exam.
“There are no bad troops, only bad officers,” said Jeff Cassell, president of TAPTCO. “The most important factor in providing safe passenger transportation is the leadership at the location. When leaders, trainers, and drivers work together to do all they can to do it right, the first time, every time in everything they do, then you truly have a Safety Culture.”

Instilling a Safety Culture requires that all levels of leaders, supervisors, trainers, and drivers be trained to the highest level. This involves training materials that teach all three groups — the trifecta of training, as Cassell explained.
Completing this course ensures that every member of the leadership team is familiar with all the techniques and practices they can employ to provide the safest and most effective training for their drivers.
Good leaders are rare because we never take the time and make the effort to help them become professionally trained leaders. They are usually left to figure it out on their own. Going through this course will enable leaders to acquire a whole new set of skills to provide the best leadership possible, said Cassell in a press release.
