SAN FRANCISCO — An annual poll found that California Bay Area residents showed strong support for a $3 billion bond measure to improve the Bay Area Rapid Transit District system, as well as for building a second Transbay Tube, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.
In all, 59% said they would support a second tube to help ease BART’s overcrowding, even though the price would be high. The poll did not offer cost estimates or ask if those surveyed would be willing to tax themselves for the improvement. Only 28% opposed the idea.
