CAT Moves Forward With Approved Master Transit Plan
The plan outlines a newer vision for CAT as changing mobility needs across Chatham County evolve.

Chatham Area Transit (CAT) announced that its Board of Directors approved the agency’s Master Transit Plan during CAT’s Regular Board Meeting on July 25.
The plan outlines a newer vision for CAT as changing mobility needs across Chatham County evolve.
CAT’s Strategic Goals
The initiative, in partnership with Chatham Connects, details CAT’s strategic goals to develop regional mobility strategies, including considering new ways to offer public transportation.
The project scope includes evaluation and recommendations of short-term network and route changes as well as the development of longer-term infrastructure and investment strategies.
“We are grateful for the partnership of Chatham Connects and the partnerships from our Board of Directors, local leaders, community stakeholders, neighborhood associations, and our riders for their invaluable feedback that made this Master Transit Plan a reality,” said CAT CEO Faye DiMassimo. “We are excited for what the future holds at CAT and the future of public transportation in our region.”
Chatham Connects has worked with stakeholders and community members to create a shared vision that reflects regional priorities and opportunities since Fall 2022.
