West Palm Beach, Fla.'s Palm Tran named  Clinton B. Forbes as its new executive director, effective Nov. 2, 2015. The Palm Tran executive director oversees both fixed-route and paratransit operations of the system and its 622 employees.

Forbes is a seasoned leader with over 27 years of experience in the public sector, with 20 of those in public transportation planning, directing and senior management. Most recently, he served as VP, operations, for the Central Ohio Transit Authority, overseeing 860 employees. Prior to that, he served as president of JAX Transit Management Corp, directing mass transit operations for the Jacksonville Transportation Authority.

Forbes spent 23 years working for Miami-Dade County government, which included eight at the transit authority, and the start of his transportation career with the Metropolitan Planning Organization.

In 2013, Forbes received the prestigious Industry Innovation and Leadership Award from the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials for his leadership in implementing contactless smart card technology at two transit properties in Florida.
