ORLANDO, Fla. — John Lewis, CEO of the LYNX regional bus service, appears to be headed to North Carolina to run the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS), according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Lewis, who has been in Orlando since December 2010, is the sole finalist for the CEO job, he confirmed Tuesday, the report said.

Prior to joining LYNX, Lewis served as the CEO of the Greater Richmond Transit Company. Additionally, during his tenure with the Maryland Transit Administration, Lewis held a series of progressively important management positions including Director of Rail Operations and Director of Bus Operations.

Lewis said he is negotiating a compensation package and expects to come to an agreement sometime in early July with the CATS, according to the Sentinal.
