ALBANY, N.Y. — The New York State Senate passed legislation that if made into law will require the appointment of a transit dependent and paratransit dependent representative on the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority’s (NFTA) Board of Commissioners, WKBW Buffalo reported.
The new appointments could play a major role in shaping NFTA’s future, which includes a possible $1.6 billion light rail expansion, as well as a proposed $100 million five-year capital spending plan for light rail.
