MADISON, Wis. — A recent survey found that half of Wisconsin’s residents want to see more passenger rail service in the state and nearly that amount thinks the state doesn't spend enough on transportation, according to The Cap Times.
Gov. Scott Walker rejected $810 million in federal funding for a high-speed train line between Madison and Milwaukee after he was elected in 2010, and the issue has continued to surface.

The region’s fixed-route system finished out the year with a total of 373.5 million rides. Adding 12.3 million rides over 2024 represents an increase that is equal to the annual transit ridership of Kansas City.
