Clever Devices Names New SVP of Rail

Clever Devices named John Santamaria, the former VP and chief mechanical officer of car equipment at New York City Transit, joined the organization as sr. VP, rail.

In his new role, Santamaria will concentrate on rail customer acquisition and project deployment to expand Clever Devices' growing footprint in the rail industry. Leveraging his 20-plus years of experience, Santamaria will also work closely with the organization's product management and development teams to help define Clever Devices' next-generation rail solution portfolio.

Santamaria spent 23 years with MTA/New York City Transit, where he was responsible for the maintenance and acquisition of all the New York subway system's railcars. A licensed professional engineer in three states, he is a well-respected member of the transit industry and the current vice-chair of the APTA Rolling Equipment Technical Forum and an active participant within the International Association of Public Transport Rolling Stock subcommittee.
