HDR Acquires WKE
Founded in 2007, WKE’s expertise in design and construction management includes streets and highway corridors, bridges, runway structures, rail and transit facilities, and ports and harbors.
HDR is expanding its multimodal transportation services by acquiring WKE, based in Santa Ana, Calif. Going forward, the firm will do business as HDR | WKE.
Founded in 2007, WKE’s expertise in design and construction management includes streets and highway corridors, bridges, runway structures, rail and transit facilities, and ports and harbors. WKE is highly regarded for its technical innovation and focus on quality and has delivered conventional design-bid-build and alternative delivery projects for public and private clients. Their practice complements HDR’s collaborative, full lifecycle approach to infrastructure development and delivery of critical transportation programs in the Southwest region.
The two firms have worked together to deliver some of the nation’s most transformative transportation projects including most recently LINK Union Station redevelopment and I-605 Corridor Improvement Project for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
HDR is the sixth largest 100% employee-owned firm in the U.S. by employee count; the acquisition of WKE brings another nearly 80 people to the company.
