Twenty communities across Metro Vancouver will benefit from TransLink’s Municipal Funding Program in 2023. The $128 million program consists of 106 infrastructure projects, including improvements to greenways, cycling paths, walkways, multi-use paths, bridges, and roads, in addition to maintenance of the Major Road Network.

Through the Municipal Funding Program, TransLink contributes up to 75% of funding for upgrades benefiting local governments throughout the region. For projects improving the efficiency of bus operations or some priority cycling infrastructure, TransLink funds up to 100% of the project costs.

The program is funded by TransLink and is part of the 2022 Investment Plan, supported by the Government of British Columbia.

In total, the 106 investments consist of 62 walking, cycling, and multi-use paths; an additional 31 roads, structures, and bus speed upgrades; and overall operation, maintenance, and rehabilitation of the Major Road Network.
